Dutchie, CGC

We had Dutchie in several obedience classes and she earned her CGC with ease. She loved playing ball, chewing up toys and bones', playing with our Aussie pup and cat, was always eager to go on trips with us and loved her daily walks around the neighborhood. As we got more involved with rescue work we started bringing more and more rescues home. Dutchie was always the perfect Ambassador and showed the new dog(s) around the house and yard. She had even taught several puppies housebreaking skills (one was barely 8 weeks old and followed her to the yard to go potty and never once messed in the house) as well as showed everyone where the cookie jar was located. Although Dutchie was a really well behaved girl she most definitely took the job as protector of our home and yard very seriously. You were never allowed to enter our home/yard uninvited and she made it crystal clear that no squirrels or birds were allowed to roam our property either.
Just weeks after she turned four years old, her health rapidly declined. Soon after we were forced to say good-bye and just hold tight to our memories of our incredible girl. Since Duchies' passing, we have yet to bring ourselves to own another Golden Retriever. However we have since become volunteers/foster parents for Golden Retriever Rescue. We do this in honor of our Dutchie. She brought us much happiness and we want to help other Goldens bring their new families much happiness as well.
